Dive bombed...

The children went to bed early after walking around the Devonian gardens all day...so as Lloyd was outside cutting grass, I went outside for a swim.....I especially love swimming in the evenings...all those childhood memories come flooding back....the sound of the water splashing......the cool breeze.....

When you swim in the evening you get mistaken for pond plants by dragonflies.....they dive-bomb the pond trying to land.....some of them are HUGE and its a kind of scary but amazing feeling.....their wings buzz as they get closer and then they fly up again...turn and then dive back down.......

I didn't swim for long....40 minutes maybe....but it was a lovely way to cool down and enjoy a summer evening in peace......

Little Miss Butterfly

Natural Beauty....

Natures Beauty

Some of the flowers at the Devonian are stunning......isn't Mother Nature clever? My favourite was the pale pink and white flower that was gracefully dancing in the Japanese garden......she reminded me of coconut ice......

More flowers.....

Flutterby Butterfly.......

This was my favourite butterfly in the butterfly house but he wouldn't stay still for long so catching a good picture was difficult. His wings are blue but in the sun they shine all shades of pink and purple.....just beautiful!

The Japanese Garden....

The Japanese garden was so tranquil.......what a peaceful feeling walking around there with the occasional ring of the friendship bell........very picturesque!

Poppies

Here are some of the beautiful poppies we saw.....

The Lily

Lloyd took us to the Devonian Botanical Gardens today.....I got to play with my camera and lenses....it was a beautiful place. Perfect for photographers! There were several weddings taking place there....what a lovely place to get married and on such a perfect day!

These are the pictures I took of the Lily display.
