10 questions answered........

I saw this on Cori's blog and thought it was good :)

) What's under your bed right now? My bed goes to the floor...so only room for a penny or two and maybe some dust ;)

2) What size shoe do you wear? 7

3) What's the last restaurant you ate at? Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney, Orlando....unless you count the bakery on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom....

4) How many siblings do you have? two sisters...one is 41 and the other is 39........I am soooooo YOUNG in comparison lol! I always wanted a big brother......I would dream that an unknown older brother would show up at school and come rescue me lol! I pictured him to be like the blonde guy from the comedy show in the UK 'Bread'...Peter someone?????

5) What side of the bed do you sleep on? on the left as you look at the bed...the right as you sleep in it.....

6) Who taught you to drive, and in what kind of car? BSM...British School of Motoring.......the first instructor I had made a pass at me and tried to slide his hand up my leg........YUCK he was old and a perve (the panty stealing kind Christie lol!) then I wanted a female instructor but none were available so the school recommended this guy who they said was lovely - they told me to try one lesson and see how comfortable I felt....well he was sooooo nice...just like Mr Bean and I passed the first time I took my test...I had been so nervous and I think he was so sure I would fail because of nerves too...when I got back and told him I had passed he was just sooooo thrilled!!! I gave him a big box of Roses chocolates as a thank you and the next day he put a congratlations card through my door with a message saying that seeing me pass was so great because I was his last client - he was moving on to another career and me passing was just a great way to end his job!

7) If you could have a different career, what would it be? I love being a stay at home Mom........I love not having to get up and go out to work.....this 'job' suits me fine :)

8) What color looks best on you? brown

9) What's your favorite board game? Boggle - not quite a 'board' game but I LOVE it and am VERY good at it :)

10) How tall are you? 4' 11 3/4 "

Six weird things about me.....

Heather from 'My Eclectic Blog' tagged me a while back.....I have to think of six things that are weird about me..........well I've read Heathers and Debbies and Daisy's...but to be honest I don't find many of the weird things weird lol! Maybe because I do some of those things so they are normal to me ;)

So I have thought and thought of weird things I do or can do.....and I've asked Lloyd too and I'm not sure I can think of 6 weird things but I will think of six 'things' lol!

1. I walk on tiptoe on all hard surfaces...automatically....my heels just lift up as soon as I go from carpet to hard floor.......Lloyd and his family were the first people to ever notice......

2. I suck my thumb while driving but automatically take it out of my mouth when I am at traffic lights........

3. I can't eat chocolate thats been refrigerated...but I CAN eat it if its been frozen!

4. I avoid the telephone as much as is humanly possible.....if I have ever phoned you then you are a privileged one ;)

5. I keep a stash of candy in my underwear drawer...atm there is a big bag of Cadbury's mini eggs in there....half empty ;) Lloyd keeps using them as bribes for Sam - despite me telling him to leave them alone ;) Normally its a bag of marshmallow bananas......I have a few a day...when I remember they are there :) sometimes it still surprises me to open my knicker drawer and find candy hidden there! It can cheer me up :)

6. My house is over-run with spiral notebooks and yet every time I see a new one I am tempted to buy it.......What can I say? I just LOVE spiral bound notebooks. And nice pens......

Oh and Debbie added an extra one so I will too (lol!)

7. I just spent two weeks at Disney World and I can't stand Mickey and Minnie Mouse!

Oh and I can pop a ping pong ball out of a certain orifice (lol) but I'm not sure I should post about that here lol!!!!!

I will think of people to tag over the next few days....going upstairs to bath Sammy with Lloyd now! Goodnight!

Lloyd!!!

I know you will be busy this week at work catching up and everything and you may not read this for a while, but I just want to thank you for working so hard to give us such an amazing holiday! It was so exciting planning it and it went so fast......but it was such a WONDERFUL holiday and we have created so many amazing memories for our family!

It really was wonderful...just us....just our family...the seven of us together........and that made it just so special.....thank you!

I'm going to miss you so much tomorrow when you go back to work.....

Our holiday is over, but we will have our scrapbook full of memories and our dvd's of all the videos we made so we can remember our trip to Florida for ever :)

I can't wait until the next time we go....the 7 of us again....off in the sunshine and enjoying all that fun again! It won't be long before Chris won't want to holiday with us....he'll be off away with his friends instead.....so I know the next holiday will be even more special....maybe one of our last holidays with just the 7 of us........

Thank you baby. I love you!

luggage

We took 3 fairly empty suitcases with us to Florida....summer clothes don't take up much space and that even included a big pack of diapers! We knew we would have to buy at least one case to bring souvenirs home with us, but we ended up having to buy 2 new cases to come home with! And we had to pay $25 extra at the airport because one of them weighed too much! If you plan to go to Disney any time soon pack lightly and be prepared to bring more cases home with you than you went with :) everything is so cheap down there and its easy to get carried away......

My favourite things that I bought.....my two snowglobes from Disney and Sea World, and my Disney World 2007 Scrapbook Album kit........and of course the pearl that Lloyd bought for me for my birthday :)

Susie loves her Stitch backpack......Laurie loves his stitch sweater, Sam loves the cuddly dolphin a lady gave him at Sea World and Abby loves her Ariel dress......Chris bought himself a dolphin ornament at Sea World.....

Lloyd bought himself a Disney baseball cap which he has worn all day today - even to Staples!!!! Thats really weird because he NEVER wears baseball caps and is sooooo NOT a baseball cap kind of guy lol......but he does look cute in it ;)

What did I not bring back with me from Florida? 6lbs!!!! I lost 6lbs which is amazing as we ate so much good food down there....it must be all that walking I guess :)

I can't wait to scrapbook our holiday.....next weekend I am off to the scrapbook store to stock up on Disney and Florida embellishments :) I have to order some of our photopass pictures from Disney (as you walk around Disney they have photographers who take pictures of you all and then they swipe your photopass.....you then have three weeks to look at them online and order any you want......its really nice as it means you get pictures of ALL of you........by things like the castle and Epcot etc etc........and they are by all the characters too.......Universal doesn't do that - they have photographers but you have to buy the pictures then and there.....we didn't buy any there but I like that you can share the pics on the Disney site...when I find my photopasses I will add the links here for you to see - family back home you can order the ones you want too........but they will only be there for another week or so......

Well dinner is almost ready so I should go and get ready...it smells so good Lloyd!

Wedding cake

Christie had emailed me on holiday and asked me what my favourite colour was...well it's turquoise...and I wondered why she had asked...when I got home I realised! On the table was a wedding cake iced in the most gorgeous truquoise icing and decorated so delicately! I didn't see it until this morning as I was in bed all day yesterday.....but its gorgeous and was a delicious chocolatey cake inside....it originally ahd a hummingbird on the top but I think Abigail (or someone) helped themselves to the hummingbird from the top! So I put the Mickey and Minnie Bride and Groom that I bought on holiday on the top instead......

The cake was gorgeous Christie - thank you so much (and Dawn for making it!) I was so happy to have a real wedding cake!

Our welcome home.....

We arrived home to some wonderful surprises....Christie and her children had decorated our home with a lovely welcome home banner and lots of treats for Lloyd and I for being newly married! There was even a wedding cake on the dining table and the front door was decorated in little jelly hearts and words......and my knicker drawer had a label on it saying 'open with caution' and inside were lots of 'adult' treats for Lloyd and I (if you know what I mean lol!)

And then Susie ran in to say she had found a gift on her bed from Christie too!!!

Christie THANK YOU sooooooooooo much for looking after the house and Charlie and the chickens for so long...I am so so grateful...I relaxed totally on holiday knowing my home and the animals were all looked after.......and the gifts and surprises just made coming home even more special - thank you!

A Snowy Sunday at home..........

Its nice to be home :) REALLY!!! Its been snowing lightly all day and is very pretty. Lloyd and I drove into town and got a Timmies.....Lloyd has really missed his Timmies :) We bought a few school supplies for tomorrow too.....the school hasn't sent us the school supplies list yet so we just bought a few things until we get the list...luckily there is only school for three days this week and two of those days Chris is going bowling and to Millennium Place to swim/ skate etc so they won't need many supplies this week.....

I'm sat here drinking tea from my Eeyore mug from Disney......my HUSBAND (lol) is beside me on the laptop...preparing to go back to work tomorrow :(

Life is getting back to normal........we've unpacked all the cases and

This time last week we were at Sea World feeding the dolphins.......

So whats been happening since I posted last? Well we left the house Thursday lunchtime after swimming in the pool all morning.......we decided to spend the morning at the villa instead of sat in the car to the beach.......when we opened the door at lunchtime, the humidity and heat hit us...wow I have never felt humidity like it.....it was overpowering and horrible. We were soaked through before we even got in the car! If thats February I can't imagine mid summer!

It was a VERY hot day.....we went back to the Magic Kingdom to go on the things we hadn't had time for before......it was lovely and we stayed until closing when we watched the fireworks again and this time Tinkerbell flew!!!! It had been too rainy the week before but Thursday night it was fine...a lady dressed as Tink flies from the top turret of the castle all the way down a wire....she is all lit up with lights and waves a wand...it was magical! I videoed it :) then the fireworks started!

They had forecasted thunder storms for Thursday night but didn't say they would be bad.....I don't think we got anything where we were...we certainly weren't woken by thunder or anything.......but when we woke in the morning and switched on the news it said that tornadoes had gone through the area and at least 1 person was dead....by the time we got to Minneapolis airport the number had grown to 1`4 and now they say at least 21 died........we think the worst hit spot was about 30km north from us but parts of Orlando were hit too........not even the garbage bins were blown over where we were......amazing!

Big storms in Florida are normally between May and November - the hurricane season......but because of El Ninio everything is messed up and they have had a very warm winter........they are expecting even more severe storms in the rest of Feb and March and say this years hurricane season may be very bad........I think they said 4 tornadoes hit in the early hours of Friday......

So Friday at 2am I woke with a migraine.....Imitrex didn't work at all.......the villa owners let us stay a few hours extra and I tried to sleep it off but no luck and I started throwing up around 10am.........I HAD to get up as we had to go and buy a suitcase on the way to the airport.....Lloyd managed to get me into the shower and get me dressed....I couldn't even lift my arms :( it was not good :(

We made it to the airport and they got me a wheel chair......5 kids, 5 suitcases, 2 carry-on bags and me in a wheelchair throwing up into a Rainforest Cafe cup every few minutes.....! FUN FUN FUN

We are allowed onto the plane first anyway because we have young children (and me in a wheelchair which meant we could get through all the checks etc very fast too yay!!!)

The flight attendants were wonderful and luckily at Minneapolis we found out we were leaving for Edmonton on exactly the same plane and from the same gate so we didn't have to walk the length of Minneapolis airport (HUGE!) to find the gate......AND we had the same flight attendants on the second flight! On the first flight the Flight Attendant invited Susie up to help her with the security briefing - how to do up your seat belt and use the oxygen mask etc etc......

After the second flight the flight attendants came over to us and told us how wonderful they thought all our children were...how polite and well behaved and how we've done such a great job raising them...one of the flight attendants even said she'd like to take them home with her which shocked even her because she normally doesn't like kids!!!! :) So that was nice to hear.....

Luckily both flights were easy...no turbulence at all thankfully - although I felt so ill I don't think I would have cared at that point if the plane crashed.....Sam and Abby slept the whole of the second flight and sat and watched Monsters Inc on Lloyds laptop for the first flight.......Chris sat with me the first flight and helped with sick bags and water....and on the second flight Susie sat beside me and held my hand!

After collecting our car from valet parking (FAB service...it was even warmed up before we got to it!) and collecting our coats from coat-check (again a fab service!!) we headed home and got home just before 2am Saturday morning...I collapsed into bed hoping to feel better when I woke up on Saturday.....sadly NO.....I was throwing up all Saturday too and felt a little better by about 10pm but at 2am again another migraine hit.....Lloyd persuaded me to try another Imitrex and thankfully it worked.....by 8am I woke feeling much better...just very weak as I hadn't eaten since Thursday supper time........

Now its Sunday evening and I feel tons better....so glad to be away from all that humidity which I did NOT like.......Lloyd is obsessively looking at houses in North Carolina.....he says we may only have to deal with one more winter here......that would be good! I'd like to live in the States......of all the States we have researched we think we'd like NC the most.......we think we may head down there this time next year to have a look around.....

Lloyd is cooking a roast dinner atm...I'm not sure i'll be able to eat much but it smells GOOD!!! Mmmmmmmmm we have eaten out so much the last couple of weeks, and although we tried to go for healthy options, it wasn't always possible...I'm looking forward to a proper family dinner at home with plenty of vegetables :) And Roasties!!!!
