Abigails Junque Journal.....

and while Abby and I were busy working on our journals, Sam was busy with paper and stapler...and my Stickles....and spare letter sheets...he was making books and painting jars and he also made this basket ALL BY HIMSELF!!!  I thought it was really neat - then he told me he had made it for holding marshmallows and popcorn during a movie this afternoon!!!  He's not as silly as he looks ;)

So this afternoon we snuggled under blankets and watched Night at the Museum 2 :)  And he got to use his basket :)

Tonight Lloyd and I are running out to do some birthday shopping.....yes we have ANOTHER birthday this weekend.....it's also Valentines Day AND a three day weekend because our Province is one of the lucky ones here in Canada to celebrate Family Day :)  Our Province was actually the one that started  Family Day

We have a few other errands to run while we're out too but we're not having date night this week as we're out with friends on Friday night and we're out again on Sunday....so tonight is just errands and a quick bite at Timmys or somewhere.....still, it will be just us - even if we are child-focused!!

I'm hoping to head somewhere for the new yarn I need and I hopefully to Education Station too.

Ok, got to tidy up here a bit and then hop in the bath for half an hour I think before Lloyd gets home from work.....

Whatever you are up to, I hope you have a lovely evening! It's been a gorgeous sunshiney day :)

Lloyd sent me this.....Hhmmm ;)

Some of the inside of my junque journal.......

A few of the pages from my Junque journal......I mod podged some of the pages together to give them extra strength - and then I gessoed some either black or white to give them a plain background.  I used various media from glimmer mist and inks.  I've added bulldog clips and ribbons to the sides, library envelopes, envelopes and tag envelopes (some of which I attached with duct tape as suggested in the video) and I also attached things with staples.

We are having so much fun with this project.

As you can see, we haven't added much 'junque' or ephemera yet, but I have added a few little things...a few little drawings the children have done over the years, some cards friends have given me that are special - a valentine Lloyd made me....an old business card of Lloyds.....theatre tickets...some leaves we picked from the woods last year......

There are a LOT more pages than shown here....obviously....and many of them have envelopes of various designs, colours and sizes attached..as well as pockets for things too....

Abigail loves this project too - I will post pictures of her project later when it's dry :)

Don't forget you can find out all about Junque Journals HERE

I still have TONS to do - only been working on this for a few days - lots more inking, spraying, colouring, papering to be added!!!

Snowflakes...

I tried to get a few snowflakes the other day but it was too windy...I was catching them on my black shirt  but the wind kept blowing the shirt even with it weighted down - so I gave up - it wasn't quite cold enough for the snowflakes to settled on the glass of the windows without melting - my preferred way of photographing them :(

Knitting

Another project on the go.....I finished the pink scarf which now belongs to Abigail.  I must take a picture of her in it!!!  I have orders for two red and white scarfs (vic team colours) for Chris and for Susannah)  so I have to get some red and white yarn.  Laurence wants red and black!

I've been reading up on how to knit hats which also look really easy so I want to do a hat to match Abigails scarf.  This one in the picture I started last night and did all that in one evening because it's really thick yarn so it won't take long at all....it's such a pretty yarn.

Art classes continue....Matisse!!

Abigails art classes continued yesterday with a session on Valentine card making - and they also studied  Henri Matisse

Abigail came home with some beautiful cards including a stained glass version. She used mixed media including sequins...and they also created pop up cards!!

This was Abigails last class in the younger class downstairs - next week she moves upstairs into the older class for 8 years and older!  She'll miss her friend K but they have a playdate arranged for next week so thats ok :)
