Saturday ramblings

Chris had to work this morning.....volunteering at the library, so when we went to pick him up we also decided it was time to sort out all the childrens bicycles and helmets...so we headed off and kitted everyone out with new helmets (including me - wow I found THE most COMFORTABLE helmet ever!!!! Not an easy task as I have a really big head and often can't find hats to fit! NO rude jokes about my big head ok??????) We bought a new pump and two new inner tubes too and Lloyd and the kids are all outside fixing the bikes, brakes and pumping up the tyres. As soon as that is done me and the older three are going to head out for a cycle ride......

We're planning on going for a drive out East later to look for fields filled with hay bales......and take some photographs of Alberta in the summer :) maybe out to Elk Island.........then we want to head in to town and pick up Cheaper By The Dozen 2.

Yesterday was a quiet day really. Chris had to work for a few hours in the afternoon so while he was there I took the others out for lunch. I went back to Mariposa and bought two more t-shirts...they are so comfortable and soft and I love the longer length! They look great layered......Laurie refused to come into the store as he said it was a 'hot chick store' I told the sales girl who laughed and I told her it had made my day that I was buying clothes ina 'hot chick store'! Too funny!

We ran into L and K with J and they were tellig me that F is due to have her baby this week.....I have been thinking of her! F lives in our old house behind L and K.

We went to the library for a while waiting for Chris to finish his shift...the children played the summer game...all won prizes....Sam played with the train for ages.......

My favourite book is Sarah Ban Breathnach's 'Simple Ambundance'......I was talking to Pam about it the other day and she was telling me all about Sarah's other books....which is odd because I LOVE that book but had never thought to see if she had others...although I knew she had written the version for men.......so Pam was recommending her other titles.....so I have ordered 3 of them at the library and yesterday brought home 'Romancing the Ordinary'........

I have no idea why I have never looked into her other titles.....that is just NOT like me! so thank you Pam.......more books to add to my wish list for Christmas :)

We went to the dollar store yesterday and the children picked a few things to buy...Abigail chose another of the 'digs'....this time she had to dig for a dinosaur skull...she then spent the rest of the afternoon at the table digging for dinosaur bones with the little chisel that comes with the kit.....those kits are fab! The Mummy ones in the pyramids were great too!

Last night we cooked dinner out on the fire......lots of vegetables wrapped up with seasonings.....courgettes, carrots, peppers, onion, potato.........a bit of olive oil.....it was delicious......

Lloyd and I went for a walk again once the children were asleep. Then we curled up and watched Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason...for the umpteenth time.....but I smile the whole way through because I love that movie......and Mark Darcy is very VERY tasty ;)

I didn't sleep much last night.....Abby slept in with us for most of the night......I just couldn't get to sleep......there was a storm to the south of us so I watched the lightening for a while...but it never came close to us....they never seem to any more...

I'm tired today.........not in the mood to do much......maybe I'll scrapbook......it's been a while......
