Its lunchtime................its grey and rainy outside................we had a big thunder storm last night and it seems to have rained constantly ever since...........I don't mind the rain....its calming.....rainy days are the days where everything naturally slows and we feel all cozy inside................
This morning I watched 100 Huntley Street....mainly because I wanted to see the interview with Max Lucado...author of 'Cure for a Common Life'.............more about that later..................I folded laundry while I watched..............
Laurie did some work in his workbook....then he did some Math U See............Susannah did Math U See and then worked on a pop quiz I created for her on Calgary Zoo....it included things like finding out when the zoo opened...she couldn't find this on the website so she emailed them and they replied telling her how great the quiz idea was and that the zoo opened in 1929!
Laurie has a pop quiz on Banff to do later.....they love these things as they get to research by themselves online............even using sites like mapquest.............
Chris created more Japanese flashcards, learnt more vocabulary and then sat and watched Empire of the Sun to see if he could recognise some of the Japanese language.....he also read through some of the things the Consulate sent him yesterday........
I spent a while printing things out based on Aesops Fables ready for later....................
The children want to use the chopsticks later so I bought jellybeans for that yesterday.............
Tonight is date night but Lloyd and I both feel ill so we are having datenight on the sofa in front of a good movie instead :) It was my choice about where to go so I said THE SOFA!!!! :) I think he was pleased too :)
Abigail did a little of her Disney math this morning (her choice) and then flopped on the bed watching tv because she isn't feeling great either................
I phoned my Dad......he's on his own this week as my Sister and her husband are in Majorca for the week and Mum is babysitting (well, looking after my Nephews aged 5, 15 and 19) so I chatted with my Dad for a while about stuff.......buying a new computer, Steve Irwins death, suicide in young people because of pressure from being intelligent............my blog news..........their new kitchen plans and deciding whether to get rid of their front door..........
Susie is now reading to Sam...........endless books....his favourites are Dora books atm...........I am about to drive down to the mail box and see if we have mail.................
The homeschoolers are planning a get together at Lets Play in a couple of weeks which will be fun! Christie is also planning a survival course for the kids which would be FAB! Archery is being planned too................................
I think I will walk the dogs while the rain has stopped..........
So thats my day so far.....I did have a to do list but haven't actually done much of it yet ......no great surprise there!!!
