It's Friday. It's been snowing all day. I haven't really done a whole lot today - I woke up and found my two middle kids had overslept and missed the bus - so they had the day at home. I was NOT happy, but saw that I could work this to my benefit! Needless to say, they have been busy doing chores and playing with their younger siblings (not out of choice lol). You see, Susannah had to be told many times last night to calm down and go to sleep....Laurence was also up later than normal. THIS is why they overslept!
I don't actually mind them being home at all but don't tell them that ;) I now have a dust free house, polished windows - inside and out - on the main floor, tidy bedrooms and a sparkly kitchen AND Sam and Abby had fun playing board games and doing schoolwork! Oh, and the dogs got a nice walk this morning before the winds picked up and temperature dropped.
I have a feeling they won't be missing the bus again for a while ;) That said, I'm happy to say they haven't complained once despite what I've asked them to do - I don't think they dare because they know they were in the wrong ;)
Parcels have been arriving on a daily basis - thanks to my online shopping this year! I LOVE online shopping! LOVE it!!! Not recommended unless you can afford to pay it all off straight away of course, but if you can, then it is definitely the way to go!!

So yes, the parcels have been arriving and as they do so, I wrap everything and store it away. It's a good feeling :) and no mad rushing about at the stores :) Fab!! Just don't opt for this style of shopping if it's going to get you in to debt!!! ;)
Yesterday my parcel from A Bit of Home arrived.....our Marks and Spencers Christmas Puddings, a strawberry trifle mix, Twiglets, Bisto and a little something extra......a few Christmas essentials from Britain :)
Amazon is one of my favourite stores online - fast service, great service and they sell so much these days!!
When shopping online don't forget to look for online coupons too ;) Just google 'the store website name + coupons'. More often than not you'll get a coupon code to save you a little extra off your total!!
Lee Valley Tools is also a great online catalogue where you can get stocking fillers for kids, Hubby's AND Dads.....they have some fun things in their gift catalogue this year!
We have Christmas music playing this afternoon - and the fire channel on tv - lol - not sure if they have that in the UK or other places but here there is a channel and all december all it shows is a fire burning in a fireplace - and it plays Christmas music of all kinds :) We play it a LOT over the month :) My kids were really excited to see that it was on again :) lol! So we've had that playing all day as the snow falls!
Stay safe on the roads everyone! We've postponed our night out with friends, and instead plan to watch a Christmas movie tonight. Lloyd is stopping off on his way home to pick up some treats for us all....Definitely a night for staying home in the warm :)
