Jeremy and Jemima

The other day the children were playing on the old lawn tractor and I was snapping pictures of them and thinking about how they were reminding me of early scenes from the movie Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - where Jemima and Jeremy are playing on the old wrecked racing car!  I was walking the dogs around and they were busy playing and making up wonderful stories....

Sam's chick

Chopping onions.....

.....or not!

Sam is always saying that he can chop onions - oh yes he can - he isn't bothered by them at all - they don't make him cry.  He's a champion onion chopper.  So today when I needed an onion chopped he offered again and I sat him at the island and let him chop.  He is GREAT at peeling potatoes, apples and chopping fruit of all kinds.

I had my camera ready to get pictures of the results - you know - of the champion and his chopped onion ;)

The rhubarb is coming through already - by mid May we can normally harvest the first crop:

I even brought some pussy willow home to put in a jug on my kitchen window.

Spring has sprung even if not officially!!  And tonight it won't get dark until after 8pm!!

Friday Fill-ins!!

1. I am so looking forward to the ground drying out so we can go outside without big boots on!!
2. I really wish people would think things through sooner rather than later.
3. When you get a cadburys creme egg - how do you eat yours???  I bite the top off then lick the cream out and then lick the chocolate until it melts away.....MMmmmmmm YUM!!!
4. Writing and journaling is a big part of my life.
5. If you need anything to keep the kids busy on rainy days then head over to Whimsy Love  or The Crafty Crow.
6. We are still trying to decide on where to go for a trip.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to going out for dinner with friends, tomorrow my plans include taking Chris to his class and running a few errands and Sunday, I want to make the most of the good temperatures - and the longer day - but sleep in because of losing an hours sleep!!!
