The rest of Wednesday.............

Wednesday turned into a really nice day! After our cycle ride.....and after we had recovered and had lunch, I took Sam outside for a while...we went and checked on the chickens and looked for eggs, then he pottered about in the sandbox etc while I cleaned up after the dogs.....then all the others came outside to join us and so while Sam was happy with his siblings I hopped on the lawn tractor and mowed all the grass.......I think I cut about 3 acres or so in all.....I left the back lawns for Lloyd as the ground is so uneven there.....

I switched the mower blades off and the girls took it in turns to sit on my lap and drive the tractor which they loved. Then they all began a water fight with water balloons and buckets and the hose etc.......

Cutting the grass is quite an experience really .........for a start the grass is full of frogs that leap out of the way (hopefully) as you drive along....and now in the last week or so it is full of grasshoppers...so you are driving along with things leaping about all over the place.....

The girls had fun catching grasshoppers and for some reason had them in an old baby bottle.....maybe because the little things coule hop quite high in them....or maybe they were trying to make a rainmaker lol! It was interesting to watch anyway and they had fun letting them go....kind of like a firework...stand the bottle up and wait until it leaps out!

After Lloyd got home I finished cutting the little bit of grass by the front of the house where Sam plays mostly......then I made a quick dinner for the children and ran up to grab a shower and change while they were eating. Then it was date night :) We decided not to bother with the farmers market as there was nothing we wanted....so we headed to Joey Tomatoes as Lloyd was really hungry! It was much busier than last week....but they served us free peach belini's while we waited for our tables. We even had the same table as last week! Lloyd had the rotisserie chicken which I had last week. I had two starters instead of a main course......I had sweet chilli chicken which I adore! And I also had the crab and artichoke dip with pasta chips......yum!

We sat in Joeys chatting over dinner for ages and on the way out we met Nick...he's normally the night manager there....but is covering for the day manager who is on honeymoon :) Nick was our very first waiter on our very first visit to Joey Tomatoes in September 2002. He was so young back then! He looked just like my Nephew Daniel. We used to go to Joeys a LOT with all the children and he was great with them.....now he always asks after them and stops and chats with us....he knows us by name and knows the foods we love and our specific requests (like how Lloyd likes his food HOT and always has 13 chillis and NO celery in his Thai stir fry!)

As we were leaving I commented to Lloyd about how nice it is that we have a 'regular' restaurant where the staff recognise us, where we are on first name terms with the Manager, where they know our family and our likes and dislikes.........Joey Tomatoes does the best food with the best service and with a great atmosphere.....totally recommend it 200% !!!!!!! We go there far too much and even if we don't go there to eat once a week we tend to have take out once a week! The food is fab...their Diva salad is amazing, the Evil Jungle Noodle Salad mmmmmmmm!!! Their mashed potato is out of this world......the way they prepare their asparagus mmmmmmm their banana nut bread pudding ina a whisky sauce WOW!!!!! And they really know their wines and their steaks....they know where they come from and all about the best cuts and everything........Nick was telling us a while back that they go away on courses just about steak, cuts and producers......they KNOW the food they serve!

After Joeys we ran into Save-On as I wanted to buy a book they sell.....M from the homeschool group had told me about it....more on that later......and we grabbed a few groceries........a HUGE bag of apples as the girls have been asking this week to do apple bobbing.......then into Blockbusters for the dvd's ....as well as 'Saving Private Ryan' we bought 'In Good Company' and 'Guess Who'.

We picked up coffees on the way home too :) the children were still up when we got home (except for Sam) so they all had timbits as a treat.

I wrote a letter to my sister yesterday too.....

So that was Wednesday......I won't write about how it ended as that would be rather X rated ;)
