Rosie............

I have forgotten to update on Rosie!!! She is doing great....until the weekend she has to be separated from Amber as they play too roughly together.......this means they have to go outside separately...which means they can't go out for as long because its cold and when they are alone they don't run and play.....so aside from walks with us they aren't outside for long.....today the fog lifted at 1:30pm but was back by 3pm!!!! thick icy fog.....we couldn't see the end of our driveway.

So Rosie has rested a lot and looks funny without her long furry underbelly which has all been shaved off.....she seems quite happy in herself though which is good....she is quiet for Rosie though...she is normally the playful one! I guess her painkillers are making her sleepy a little.....Amber misses her I know!

Almond roca squares...................

I forgot to say that Susie and Chris worked together this afternoon to make some Almond Roca squares..................hey are yummy........(I won't mention that they had to make the caramel topping twice because they let the butter and sugar burn and my house smelt like burnt toffee for an hour!!) They were well worth the yucky smell!

Tuesday evening................

So we had chicken taco's with a broccoli salad for supper...the girls are now at dance....although Lloyd has gone to pick them up so they will be home soon.....no doubt they will show me what they have learnt today..............I have been curled up on my big chair reading books with Sam...one about a bear on a bike......one about things to do in the snow, and one called the Shimmery Glimmery bedtime book......

Which reminds me...how do you spell pyjamas? I have always spelled it pYjamas...but since living here everyone spells it pAjamas.....and it started making me think I was spelling it wrong...but the book we have (a British book) spells it pYjamas........so that must be the British way of spelling it................but then I thought Canadian spellings were the same as British as in colour/ favourite............

But I guess not because the Canadians I know spell it the US way pAjamas..........

So yes I have been reading with Sam, I did a couple of loads of laundry (fun fun fun) and am waiting for Lloyd to get back.....oh I sat on my bed and ate a ton of Halloween candy too.....

Lets forget all about that!! A VERY wise person last week said that the miniature candies are calorie free anyway ;)

I plan to finish off Mitch Alboms book this evening...........

winners and losers............

Susannah won the game, Laurie lost but possibly because he spent much of the game building a house of cards ;)

Debbies math game..........

Today we finally got to play the math game that Debbie mentioned on her blog http://a-step-at-a-time.blogspot.com/

Its a good game and Laurie and Susie enjoyed it......next time Abigail can play too but today she was working through her kindergarten CD rom......

Sam sat beside us at the table while we played..and he playedwith the MUS blocks.....

We weren't as organized as Debbie of course so we used a variety of objects for the units/ tens and hundreds :)

An apple (or two) a day.........

Charlie getting her nutrients the fun way..............by chasing an apple around the house!!

Sam and Charlie playing with the building straws............

Give me a piggin' kiss...............

Get well soon...

My Mom is sick with the stomach flu......back home in England...my Dad is just making her an oxo drink......so she must be getting better now.......she hates being sick....so I hope the sickness part is now gone!

Get well soon Mom.....

Christmas cards ....

This afternoon the girls started making their Christmas cards for their penpals in England and for Grandparents etc.....

the green card was made by Abigail and the red card was made by Susannah.

Dragons............

Here is the ceramic dragon Laurence painted today.............my friend Shawna gave them to me for the boys to paint.....I think Laurie did a GREAT job with this.....there are several others to be painted as well as this...Chris started one but didn't do much.....he will finish on Wednesday......

contemplating...............

I am not sure if this style of photography is what I want to do......this style of 'business' is not making me happy. I am losing my love of taking pictures......I do NOT want to do weddings but I also do not really want to do family/ child photography......

What do I want to do? I want to go back to taking my landscape portraits, my sunsets, my pictures of hoar frost on barbed wire......of hay bales in late August.....

But where is the market for that? How do you sell your work like that?

How?????

Should I frame them and sell at farmers markets? Do I try art galleries? I have no idea how to begin with that kind of business...............

But I am NOT happy doing so many family pictures or children......I could still do the occasional one for people who ask......just not advertise.............

I want to find my 'thing'...........my 'niche'........................

I don't know....maybe its because I am ill right now......maybe its the weather.........but I am just not loving this portrait photography.......it isn't my 'thing' and I miss the freedom and creativeness I get from my pictures of flowers and snowy trees and sunsets over lakes..........

I feel a little like I've given up too easily but it just wasn't working for me..........

Thoughts anyone?

Glittery fireworks display................

You put a blob of glue on the paper and then blow through the straw so the glue shoots out in all directions.....and then add glitter :)

Abigail and Susannah really enjoyed this craft today..........

A piggin' cup of tea.....................

Charlie enjoys a nice cup of tea last night.....................and then says hi to Abigail..............
