Garden delights......
Picking strawberries......
seeing colour.....
Flower Fairy........
Cowboy Sam..........
Pics from WEM......

Susie on the Swing of the Century....Abigail on her ride......the dragon breathing fire....the children by the WEM sign......the girls in Galaxyland...
I took the picture of the dragon with my cellphone and then Emailed it to myself....I am really pleased with how it came out!!! I am loving my new cellphone...Lloyd got it for me last week as my other one died.....he wanted me to have one for our Jasper trip....
My feet ache!
We spent much of today at West Edmonton Mall....I find that place exhausting!! Susie had a ride on Swing of the Century and Abigail had a go on a kiddy version of Tower of Terror - her face was a picture!!!
We took Olly to see the dragon at Silver City....we saw the Sea Lion.....saw the new roller coaster...we didn't do much at Galaxyland because we will be back there in a couple of weeks with Lauries friends and will have all day passes then....I think I may take Susie to the Waterpark that day for a swim.....
Oliver liked the Hemp stores and the British Import Store.....I bought some aniseed balls and readybrek for Lloyd and I bought myself a bag of Dolly Mixtures.....
Oh and I got myself some knickers (panties lol) in La Senza in their sale.....I love their undies...
I loved shopping at Florida Mall.......that is such a lovely place to shop...but WEM is a nightmare to me.....hundreds of crappy stores really.....not many decent ones at all......but its one of those places you HAVE to take visitors to Edmonton...hence the fact we went there today!

Monday is here again......
Its cloudy out but warm and humid....we didn't get a storm yesterday after all...but we could do with one. Parts of Alberta got golf ball sized hail yesterday.....this heat sure feels as though it is leading up to something....and we are due a large tornado.....
This morning I needed a few things so Mom and I ran out to the Esso garage and stopped in for breakfast...just coffee and toast but it was nice....
Val is coming over this afternoon.....originally to stay cool with the air conditioning, but its not that hot out today so I guess just for coffee and to say hi :) I am looking forward to the rest of my lot meeting her lot :) I think the boys are excited to meet her girls - Oliver even took himself off for a shower this morning and Laurie keeps asking if they are here yet :)
We cleaned the Hummingbird feeders and refilled them with sugar water...they get blown about in storms and all the syrup comes out....
Tonight Lloyd and I are meeting with the architect again and the builder to go over the plans again.....
Jasper is doing well....the three oldest children all have allergy symptoms so we will watch and see if things improve....we are unsure yet if we can keep him......they will be so sad if we can't....none of them had allergies to Bailey so I am really shocked that all three of them do now to Jasper....
Tomorrow I think we may head to Telus World of Science. They have a big dinosaur exhibit at the moment which the boys will enjoy......maybe after that we will head to West Ed. Mall....see the Dragon and have a stroll around.....
Lloyd called just now to say our room at the Fairmont in Whistler is now booked.....a 1200 sq ft suite overlooking Rainbow Mountain!!!!! OMG I can't wait :) It sleeps up to ten people :) It will be a lovely holiday in the Fall...we weren't planning on having a holiday this Fall but this one is paid for by the company Lloyd is now a part of......
We don't know if Lloyds friend will be coming in September yet...he has some things to sort out in the UK before he can book and he doesn't leave Baghdad until next Wednesday....
I need to have my hair cut BUT I want to grow it...its at that horrid stage where its too short to tie up but too long to leave down and just looks a mess....and its all different colours because I wnat to grow out the colour and have my natural colour again....
I have still not heard from my future boss......I have no answers :( Lloyd thinks I should go for it anyway but I am wondering if it is worth the hassle...I'm so sad because I think I would be able to make changes for the better there.... Mom of course thinks I should start my own private preschool and run it the way I want it run.....
I guess I wouldn't mind if they were advertising it as a preschool class...but its going to be advertised as a pre K and I really feel parents and children deserve better....and will expect better than the kids being handed smiley face colouring sheets and being left to just play every time......especially the 5 year olds - they deserve more of a learning environment that will prepare them for school.......I don't mean lots of academic work....but activities and games they can learn from.
I miss Lloyd today......yesterday was so lovely....a nice lazy day spent mainly with Lloyd.......and today he is at work and I miss him a lot.

My new job
I am having second thoughts about the preschool instructor job I agreed to take.....I have no contract or anything yet and to be honest I am really concerned about how the whole position and organization is run.....I'll just say that I found out yesterday afternoon...not from my boss but from someone else...that I would not be employed...I would be a contractor...which I think would mean that I would also not be covered if anything were to happen to a child in my care or to the hall.....so I would have to take out my own insurance...would have to pay tax at the end of the year.....yet would get no financial benefit for being a contractor compared to being employed......the wages are VERY low for contract work.
But what concerns me the most is it is impossible to speak to anyone above me....impossible to get any information or assistance....I have not been interviewed...have not even met anyone hiring me.....have not been asked for any references......I know nothing about wage, start dates, hours.....
Nothing hs been mentioned to me yet they have given me the keys, the files and I have been told I am lead instructor.....
I find the whole thing bizarre and it really concerns me.....I'm not sure this is a situation I want to be involved with...one day all this could well blow up in their faces.....
childcare and early education is much stricter back home.......here it seems anyone can do it....no matter of training or skill or personality.......
It would take only one accident involving a child for all this to come to light and its a real worry.
With this in mind though, and after having planned and prepared a wonderful early education curriculum, I realise that I would like to work in this area...so I think I will check out college courses for preschool instructors.
I really need to speak to my boss about all of this and air my concerns and get my questions answered...but its next to impossible to get hold of her....calls go unanswered and emails too!
What would you do? The children in this area deserve a decent preK education...they deserve an interested and capable teacher who has the ability to change the current program for the better and prepare them for school with the knowledge they need......parents are paying for this believing their children will be attending a great Pre K with educational activities...not a play group with no aims and goals.
Oh I don't know.....I'm so disappointed but I don't want to get in over my head and risk everything because of the way it is run.....
