I'm far too innocent to find this funny....my mind is pure....unlike the person who sent me this OBVIOUSLY!!!! lol!

For over 18's only ;)

Sunday

Today has been a nice day...fairly relaxing....had a lazy morning in ed enjoying the extra hour sleep that comes from the clocks going back. We had coffee and croissants in bed too :)

I sat in bed and wrote my Christmas cards (Hhmmm maybe it had something to do with the snow falling last night but I had this urge to write my Christmas card list and my cards)!!!

We drove into town and got Chris's optometry prescription then headed to the mall...lloyd went off with Chris to order his glasses while I took the others to the library...we got some great books - several of the books for Five In A Row were in so I got those too...we also borrowed The Wizard of Oz on dvd and also the movie Eight Below - which we may watch after dinner.....

After the library we drove to pick Laurie up and then we headed home...played outside in the snow for a while and I took all the pictures below.....Lloyd ahs been clearing out the basement as some workmen will be here on Thursday......

I have been tidying up a bit and doing laundry......and blogging all my pictures....and now I am off to make a shepherds pie for supper......

Sam goes sledding...

Susannah pulled Samuel around on the sled for a while this afternoon...the clocks went back last night (this year the summertime was extended for the first time - so clocks went forward three weeks earlier and back one week later - it made a big difference and I don't know whay they didn't do this years ago!) and its now 4:30pm and the sun is starting to go down.......tomorrow it will be dark when Lloyd goes to work and dark when he comes home :(

Fascination...

Sam was fascinated by the snow and ice today :)

Cairo and Jasper venture out....

Jaspers first experience of snow!!!

Charlie ventures out in the snow.....

I had to tempt Charlie out of her warm cozy heated bed by offering her Timbits...she wasn't too impressed and was quick to head back into the warmth of the workshop....

Dad

Where is your blog???????

Enjoy it while it lasts!!!

The girls were up and outside early to enjoy the snow!!!

First snow....

It was snowing when we went to bed last night...I stood in the bedroom window for a while watching the snow fall...so pretty! This morning it was so pretty to wake up to the snow everywhere :)

The temp is supposed to rise again so I don't think this snow will hang around...but its pretty while it lasts!

I've been tagged!

Donna - who runs www.scrappershaven.ca and who blogs at: www.thestampsource.blogspot.com has tagged me!! You can check out Donnas amazing handmade cards on her blog too!

I have to think up seven weird things about me! Now this is difficult because I am so perfect and so very normal so I struggle to think of anything weird about me....its everyone else thats WEIRD!!! lol!!!! hehehehehe! Lloyd just said he doesn't think it would be hard at all to think of 7 weird things about me.....I'm hurt :( lol!

Ok here goes:

I suck my thumb. But not only do I suck my thumb, I also have to do this weird skin rubbing while I suck my thumb....like the skin on my wrists is so soft, so I have to rub my wrists together and sometimes I have to rub my soft wrist over my cheek.....omg now you all know I'm nuts! I can ONLY suck my thumb just after I have washed my hands though...if I've touched anything I can't suck my thumb - and I hate having anyone touch my thumb...

When I get into bed I do the 'cat thing'......I have to kind of rub my feet up and down the sheet...kind of move my legs up and down the bed until I'm kind of comfortable...it can take a few minutes!

I like really hot baths...really REALLY hot baths. Like SCALDING hot as you get in......but then after a few minutes I get too hot and run the cold tap until its luke warm.....and then just before I get out of the bath I have to make it REALLY hot again so that I'm not cold when I get out.

I don't like mixing sweet with savoury. the idea of peanut butter and jam together grosses me out. This week I tried Fireweed Honey on toast for the first time...I liked it the first time but then it grossed me out and I can't try it again lol!

I've put gas in my vehicle once in the 12 years I have been driving. Magically my vehicles have all refilled by themselves :) I HAD to put gas in my truck this July in Jasper. I ended up leaving the gas cap off and driving to Maligne Canyon with it hanging open. So I have not refilled it since :)

I'm an athiest yet have my children in a VERY religious Catholic school.....I guess that would seem weird to some!

I love to have my toe nails painted but can not BEAR the feeling of having nail polish on my finger nails.

I'm kind of pleased because that REALLY was a struggle :) which just goes to show I've been right all along.......it's me thats normal and the rest of the world thats nuts :)

I'm supposed to tag people now - but will just say - if you have ablog then you've been tagged :)

My obsession!!!

This is a page I did today for Glenda's Dare #3 at Scrappers Haven. We had to scrap a page about our 'obsession'......I ahd wanted to do a page about all the things I 'steal' from hotels (my dirty little secret lol) but I had already sorted out my 'loot' from this last trip, so I didn't have anything to take a picture of......so instead I picked blogging!

I love these Dares...they really get your scrapbooking about yourself in a great way! My pages are still too simplistic for my liking, but I'm glad I do them......

The challenges and dares at Scrappers Haven are one of the things I love the best about that site.....they really inspire you to get scrapbooking again!

Craft supplies and curriculum!

We went to Michaels today and stocked up with craft supplies for a few projects I've been planning....including firework pictures for Guy Fawkes night on Monday. WE bought glitter in all kinds of colours, new paint in the primary colours and black and white...and numerous project kits for Christmas....

This evening I also printed off some number lines and umber charts for next week and I order Five In A Row which is a curriculum based on quality fiction. You can read more about it here: www.fiveinarow.com/fiar/

I ordered a book by Dr Ruth Beechick too www.homehearts.com/beechick.html

and some card games.

I'd like to get Chocolate Chip math but can't find it anywhere....

This morning Abigail whizzed through several pages of her math workbook..then spent a while on her math cdrom....next week I have 'lesson plans' for want of a better term.....basically I have aplan of activities to get through during the week....but we also have some field trips planned....I just hope I feel better and more able to face it all - this week I have been sick and had no energy to do much at all.....thankfully Abigail is happy to read or do her workbooks etc so it's been an easy week all round!

Library reading...

My friend Jennifer is giv ing a 'reading' from her novel at the library next week :) How wonderful!!!!

I am going to be holding a reading on the evening of November 12 at the Strathcona County Library, together with Jennifer Rahn. I know most of you are already familiar with my book, Dominion, which was released by DragonMoon Press two years ago. Well, DragonMoon had just released a terrific new book by another Alberta author, who happens to share my first name. Jennifer Rahn currently lives in Calgary, but grew up in Sherwood Park, and is coming back here to promote her first novel, The Longevity Thesis. We will both be reading from our respective books, and will also provide refreshments. We are hoping that this will be a fun evening, with plenty of opportunity for us all to visit and get to know each other better. We will begin at 7:00pm, and continue until 8:45.

I know you will enjoy meeting Jennifer R. She is a wonderful, intelligent person. I have read her book, and found it really absorbing. It is not your typical fantasy, by any means. The story centres on a university campus in an underground land, where the inhabitants have so long avoided the desert above them that many now regard the stories of its magic as mere superstition. Antronos, who has been touched by that magic, knows better. But even he does not suspect what ancient and unnatural beings are at work within the University itself, until his desire to study longevity places him in their power. The Longevity Thesis is at turns darkly primeval and disconcertingly modern, grimly macabre and life-afirming: compounded together, these ingredients create a powerful and unsettling tale.

I hope you will be able to join us on the 12th. Please pass this on to anyone else who might be interested.

Afternoon...

Still feeling crappy with my throat and cough and everything...but we headed out anyway. We had lunch out and went to Michaels....we bought glitter, new pots of paint, lots of wooden crafty bits and pieces to be painted....playdough, foamy kits....

And I bought the cutest snowman - its a jar and the snowman is kind of around the jar...or like the jar part is his belly.....its very cute anyway...not sure what I will fill it with, but he is sat on the table in my hallway :)

I heard back from Runners World - they said my subscription was cancelled because of a problem with my address (?????) yet they had my email address - they had used that to send my confirmation number etc...so why didn't they just email me to confirm my address????? So I have waited since June and they did NOTHING!!!! Ggrrrrrr. Lloyd said he would sort out my subscription for me if I wnat but I said to forget it - I think I would rather just buy the magazine each month instead of all this hassle...its the sme with Cretaing Keepsake magazine - you get your issue about 2 days before the NEXT one is due in the stores :( gggrrrrrr!

Today I got The Old Schoolhouse magazine in my mailbox...its a religious homeschool magazine....its ok - a little over the top re religion, but some of the articles are useful....I won a free subscription last year.

So when Chris gets home from school in a short while, I plan to go and soak in the bath with some Radox and my two magazines (I finally BOUGHT Runners World today now I know it won't be arriving in my mail box) Oh and Danica yes, I'm still running....I just never seem to update my running blog.....there seems little point unless something interesting happens on my run or I am in a race....not sure people would want to read 'today I ran for 30 minutes. I haven't run this week because I've been ill but apart from that yes I'm still running. I look forward to it - it gives you a high :)

Lloyd is cooking his infamous Butter Chicken tonight.....I had to pick the cream up in town earlier....along with some Alphabits cereal for a spelling activity on Monday.

Kids are home so I am off for my bath now :)

Friday morning

My throat is rough and sore again and my cough is driving me nuts and my head hurts :(

I think maybe my body knew I needed to get through Halloween, so I felt fine for a day or two...but this morning I don't feel good :(

I was heading into town today - to Michaels for a few supplies...but I think I will go in tomorrow when we go to Costco instead. I don't need the supplies until Monday anyway.

I'm not sure what to do today....I think we should start with breakfast!
