Tuesday

I'm sat here waiting for Lloyd to get back - he's just run out to fill my truck up with gas for tomorrow....I'm going out with Samantha for lunch and some shopping.

Today was tiring. Lloyd was off work...well supposedly working from home but we ended up going over to West Edmonton Mall. We went to T & T grocery Store - the Asian grocery store there as I wanted to get a Chinese dessert for Saturday. Its Ians 40th birthday on Monday and on Saturday we're going to Samantha and Ians for a Chinese meal and we're taking dessert. So we cheated and bought one lol...so we found a selection of desserts there to take :) I think there are two other couples coming too and we're all bringing dessert selections to share so it should be fun - and Samantha and Ian are cooking the meal - YUM!

We had lunch at Boston Pizza - I always have the same thing there because its so delicious - the chicken and pecan salad.

We took Abigail to Build a Bear which was her long awaited treat instead of a birthday party this year. She loved it - I will add the pictures when I have a chance.

Chris had a friend back from school tonight.....

Lloyd and I ran into town to get a few groceries tonight (and some granny slippers for me that are horrible to look at but very comfy lol)

Sammy has a cold :( no idea where that has come from.

Ok I am off to soak in the bath now :) It was lovely to have Lloyd with me all day but we did a lot and my tablets are still making me very drowsy so it was a very tiring day. Goodnight!

Sick kids and not so sick kids......

I have Laurence home today...he's not sick - he had a headache this morning - or so he said he did - but he seemed fine to me so I set him to work with chores lol.....and playing lots of games with Abby! Dominoes and things......

Sam isn't well though - he was almost sick in the night....and this morning he is full of a cold....yucky cough :(

Lots of garlic tonight!

I want to phone my friend who isn't well but Chris has emptied caller display and thats the only place I have her number....sigh.....I am so unorganized.

It has snowed all day. Today is just a blip though and tomorrow a heatwave is going to arrive and all the flowers are going to burst out and the leaves will be green and the frogs will start croaking.....

Drama club is cancelled because of the Provincial election. This means I don't have to bother to go out at all today.

The kids are having a blast upstairs and have generally not needed me at all today so I have cleaned and done laundry and blogged.

Susies bruised face.....

I didn't even know this had happened...Abigail ran into Susies face...must have happened Thursday I'm assuming. Lloyd knew....I guess it didn't hurt as bad as it actually looks because I don't remember any crying or anything. My kids don't really cry so I would have noticed if Susie had cried over anything in the last week lol. But I noticed the bruise - you can't really miss it can you? The bottom picture is from yesterday - a couple of days later......

Jennifers Little farm....

Pictures from last Thursday when we went to visit my friend Jennifer and her family....I used the camcorder and it takes really bad pictures....really poor quality sorry! I have a video of the lamb but I need to check which one it is on the laptop at some point...I have quite a few videos to add actually but have to figure them out....

In the top pic all the children were pulling faces but I took so long to take the picture that Nuala got bored pulling a face and then Abby just smiled lol....so it kind of looks odd :) Sam was busy splashing in puddles and Jennifers youngest isn't in the pic either :) lol but I tried my best :)

I really admire Jennifer for being so hands on with her animals - it was fascinating listening to how she looks after them and why she chose to farm sheep. How they butcher them etc etc....I wish I ate lamb. Poor Jennifer sounded a little fed up with eating lamb lol.

Day old lamb

We went to visit some friends and while there we saw their sheep including their day old lamb who had arrive a few weeks early. They didn't think he was premature at all though. Very cute! Without the donkey and dog to guard them, the coyotes in the area would get one a day!

Seedlings...

Getting some of our seeds started....A planted some pumpkins and sunflower seeds for an early started.

Baking

We've been doing a lot of baking in recent weeks...including some of our favourite fudge topped brownies to take to our friends house to share....

Our greenhouse...

Jennifer...are you impressed????? Lol - it's not quite my Mom and Dads greenhouse lol - or Lois Holes lol! But this is where my seedlings are, in my front window where they get light from about 11am onwards and LOTS of humidity.....if thats not enough we can add a light too as I have one upstairs I can add (my SAD light may as well get used for something lol). Let me know what you think....will it work? Will it be humid enough in the house? Warm enough? Light enough? This is the only place we can put them as the basement won't work as if I can't see them I will forget about them (tried that) the garage is heated but poor light and again I am likely to forget them. Last year we used the kitchen but this year that is not possible for long because building work may start......so my front room with the sunlight most of the day and where the computer is, is our only choice....

Everything but the tomatoes are planted now - so I have to get those done in the next couple of days.....

Roast beef...

roast parsnips, brussel sprouts, crispy roast potatoes......gravy.....it smells incredible! YUMMY!!!! I love Sunday dinner :)

Woodburning....

Laurence spent some time yesterday wood burning on a picture frame for his bedroom. I think he found it very relaxing sitting there quietly drawing on the wood....but we all kept forgetting what he was doing and people kept running into the room asking what was on fire :)

Greys Anatomy

Yesterday we played two rounds of the Greys Anatomy board game with the older kids.....they've all watched the first three series of this show. Laurie won the first game in a challenge against me because he knew that George was Izzy's penis fish. (lol don't ask!!!) I guessed that Alex was Izzy's penis fish and was wrong...but really, when you think about it, Alex is sooooo much more likely to be Izzy's penis fish than George!!!!!

I won the second game because I swapped places with Chris in a challenge becase he stupidly said 'lemon' when asked what FLOWER Merediths hair smelled of....Uh Chris FLOWER!!!!!! Lol! And now if you don't watch Greys Anatomy you are probably wondering what on EARTH I am on about!

So it was fun to play with them and Lloyd kept trying to get me to look at the answers to cheat and win but I wouldn't look :)

My little bugger!

I hope his fringe (bangs) grows back quickly. He looks so dorky with it short lol! Every time I catch him doing something 'naughty' (about every five minutes) he just puts his head on his shoulders and says ever so sweetly 'I love you Mom'.......sigh......

Rockstar!

I can hear my Mom saying OH MY GAWD!!!!!!! I dyed Abigails hair pink yesterday...actually its called Chili Plum. It's a mousse that lasts 8 - 10 weeks :) I put some in Susie and Chris's hair too :) Thought it would be fun for Spring :) Figured it's just hair and it will grow out :)

Rocket ship.......

I think they've started launching rocket ships up at Fort McMurray...at least thats what this looks like to us ;)

We live near the lay-by where they park all the 'big things' that are on their way up to the oil fields....most 'big things' travel by night when the roads are quiet...so they park them here during the day.....cokers etc etc. Not sure what this one is but it wouldn't look out of place parked up on its end at Kennedy Space Centre ;)
