Its still Sunday :)

Another Sunday post :)

Its been a really nice day...this afternoon we took the children to see Shrek the Third...GREAT movie :) I particularly liked how they showed Sleeping Beauty had Narcolepsy :)

And I liked the Kings funeral - he was pushed into the fountain in a shoebox :) it was quite emotional!!

When we got back from the movies, I went for a run with Laurie, Susie and Chris (well, actually CHris sprinted ahead so wasn't really with us)

Halfway up our Range Road, a young moose stepped out from the hedge into the road.....It stared at us for a while and then crossed the road and ran into the field opposite......It was about 15 metres ahead of us.....

We waited in case the Mother appeared but nothing else did so we ran on.........it took me a while to get going today but Laurence encouraged me to stick with it.....its soooo much easier running downhill lol! I got home and did some stretching and just now I ran the driveway and back with Abby too. My top right leg is hurting though despite warming up and stretching so I will have to watch that.

When we got back from the run, Lloyd had started a fire in the fire pit.....baked potatoes under the fire and the children had hotdogs and roasted marshmallows....

I have pictures but not sure if I will upload them tonight.

The children have been playing outside...baseball etc....and I got on the trampoline for a while too - until Sam got on as well and I had to stop bouncing because otherwise he gets bounced too high!

We have heard a few rumbles of thunder so maybe we will get a storm to cool things down....the car thermometer said 24c earlier......I think its about 19 at the moment......

Sunday......

Its hot again today......gloriousy hot and sunny - tomorrow was supposed to be cooler but it doesn't look as though it is going to be much cooler after all......18c...and by the weekend it will be really HOT.....

I am sat here covered in dust and mud.....I have been out gardening...watering all the vegetables and fruits and planting more seeds....carrots and swede this time.......and some more tomatoes......well tomato plants, not seeds.....

Charlie was out in the mud again and the dogs were out running around and playing baseball with Chris........

Sam loves to help in the garden....he knows what is in each bed growing....he loves to water the 'warbees' which is what he calls the strawberries....

Now we are all inside again.....Sam and Abby are in the bath, Susie is in the shower.....I am about to jump in the shower....we are off to the movies to see Shrek 3 this afternoon. It will be fun going with all of us...In Universal Studios we saw Shrek 4d which is so much fun!

My Honeysuckle is in the ground....and protected from Charlie....

Our Rhubarb is growing back fast...it will be ready for us to get our second crop soon!

The mud bath.......

This is what my back lawn is like now :( not attractive huh???? But Charlie pig loves th emud and Sam has had great fun running through it all!

Charlie made the most of all the mud the well drillers had left behind...she rolled around in it to cool off from the hot sun today! She isn't very clean any more but she's a lot cooler!!!!

Saturday ramblings.......

Saturday afternoon......this morning Lloyd and I went to Chapters and had coffee in Starbucks while flicking through some kitchen design magazines...we have the architect coming this week so we need ideas!

After that we went to Costco and got some groceries...I got some amazing pumpkin seed and flax seed granola to go in my yoghurts every day.....it's organic too....

When we got back home, we all helped pack the groceries away....then Chris cycled off to his friend Matts house......Susie called Cassie and invited her over to play and she is sleeping over tonight........Lauries friend called and invited him to go to the races tonight at the speedway place near the airport...so he's very excited.....

Chris just got back with a friend who is NOT Matt...actually its his friend that lives at Birch Bay Ranch....his parents manage the camps there....

Lloyd and I planted my honeysuckle and clematis......Lloyd tied a fenc around the trees we planted last week and then we let Charlie out.....Charlie immediately spotted the muddy bog that is the top of the new well and tap....and she dived in and rubbed herself in all the cool mud...its how pigs cool down in the heat...and its HOT today :)

They say by next weekend it will be eraly to mid 30's......THANK GOODNESS for air conditioning!

I've taken some photos that I will upload later....I want to go back outside with Lloyd and enjoy this hot weather :)

Oh and I put my hummingbird feeders out...they recommend you put them up at least 10 days before any hummers are due to come by.....and we will have to change the sugar solution every three days or so......its 1 part sugar to 4 parts water...boil for two minutes and then cool :)

Since everyone got caught onto facebook, none of them blog much any more.....

Me? I prefer my blog..its mine...only I write here...I don't come here each day and find a ton of crap about other people that doesn't interest me.....

I hope facebook is a phase that people tire of quickly....

Geez I'm in a bad mood today......I HATE being stuck at home and inside...especially on a day like this - but with so much machinery and HUGE holes and ditches outside I can't even go outside and enjoy the sunshine! I keep watching the clock waiting for the children to get home......I hope they get home soon...

Coming clean......

I have to admit that I think Facebook is useless....I just don't 'get' what all the fuss is about.....I don't find it a good way to communicate with friends...I find it messy and odd...and I can't believe the amount of groups people seem to join.....is that all they do all day???? Look through Facebook?

I don't use the computer enough to appreciate facebook...I think thats maybe what it is......

So many people told me its addictive but it just doesn't interest me......I had even forgotten all about it until today and figured I should check and see if I had missed anything...but apart from Tanyas cute boat thing...there really wasn't much there....

So I'm sorry but I don't like Facebook, won't be getting addicted and don't have any interest in it...

but I still love getting emails - or comments here so if you wanna get hold of me, do't rely on facebook ;)

You might need to click on this picture to see it bigger.....we are having a bad year where mosquitoes are concerned...because the last few years have been drought weather, this year we had much more snow and rain and there has been a lot of excess water laying about since the thaw......so the mosquitoes have gone crazy......last night was just horrible for them....

Our baby tree farm :)

Here are the trees that Dan and Laurie (with lots of help from Lloyd lol) planted last week.........we will leave them here for a few years until they are a few feet high and then they will be transplanted to other areas of the land.......they are all Blue Spruce and will add a nice variation to our land.........we only have deciduous trees right now (unless you count the silly little fir's we have at the front....

Friday morning....

The workmen are here.....they are complete tossers who don't even say hi to me...I am not worthy of their speech I guess.....yet they chat away to Lloyd when he gets home...so although I normally serve up snacks and drinks to workmen regularly, I am not giving these guys ANYTHING grrrrrrr

I will be glad they are done.....

Good news today - we have got the go-ahead to have the extension done...just waiting on the architect to get in touch......AND we have decided to make the basement a walkout!!! We will rough in a half bath down there too! Or maybe a bathroom with shower and toilet......

I am undecided as to whether I should go to the garage sale tonight....for some reason I am not that bothered...but the kids want to go.....but maybe we could bribe them with Shrek?????? hmmmmmm

Weather is gorgeous again....20c today....24c tomorrow......21 on Sunday.......YUMMY weather :)

Calgary (3 hrs away) and Red Deer (1 1/2 hrs away) got a tn of snow over the last couple of days which is weird as we have had nice weather.....Wednesday was chilly and it snowed for like 5 minutes but thats all......now its Summery again yay :)

I HATE having workmen here......how will I cope for a month in the Fall???? With no kitchen??????? And then with a kitchen but NO COUNTER TOPS?????????

I watch Global News in the mornings, and the show that comes on afterwards is the Christian show '100 Huntley Street'

This morning they had a GREAT guest on the show...his name is Justin Lookadoo and he is 6' 7"....they had him stand next to one of the presenters who is my height, and the top of her head is level with his nipples!!! When he kneels down, they are the same height :) Things like that interest me because of my height lol!

They were discussing Lookadoos new book which is called '97 - random thoughts about life love and relationships' I think I am going to get this book (Dan I think you'd like it too as its along the lines of Morries book!!) THis book is all about living with no regrets!

This guy was at Virginia Tech right after the shootings, and he reduced the juvenile crime stats in a county in Texas by 60% through his education of children from K - gr5........
