The movie we watched being filmed...

This movie was filmed here in Edmonton at the West Edmonton Mall...it meant that
the Christmas decorations at the mall were still up in July! We watched a few scenes being filmed and also know a few of the extras :) We were also in stores and asked to leave so they could close them for filming lol! But kind of cool to see a movie set in action!

It's nice to see places you know in a movie :) It doesn't look like a GREAT movie but might be fun for the kids :)

It's National Grouch Day!!!! And I think Sam knows it (lol) I just told Lloyd that Sam was in a bad mood and Sam overheard - so he said (grouchily) "me not in bad mood. Me good mood"!

Monday....

Its Monday morning. It's going to get to 19c today - another gorgeous Fall day. We are packing a small picnic and heading into town to a playground thats by a lake. We'll take a walk around to say goodbye to the geese before they head South....we can play at the playground.....and have our lunch. Then I have to run and get Lauries birthday cake!

Laurie only opened one gift this morning and the rest he will open when he gets home from school - they over slept this morning and although they weren't late, there wasn't time to enjoy gift opening like we normally do..........

Chris has gone off for his river watch day on the North Saskatchewan River....I hope they have fun. Susie has taken Abigails school picture order back to school as well as the library book she had - so the school fees will be reimbursed today. That covers our membership of the Science Centre for the year :)

Sam and I have been sat in bed reading some of his books. Abigail has been watching The Magic School Bus. I guess its time to get showered and dressed so we can head into town.

Oh and the community league phoned last night - I have to go to a meeting on Thursday night at the hall - I'm helping to plan and organize the childrens Christmas party. I volunteered there two years ago and it was fun so I'm happy to take part again this year.

Tonight I am hoping its not too breezy for a fire again - I love making the most of the nice evenings by sitting outside until dark.

Ssssshhhhh about the snow flying!!! Pessimist!

Sunday evening....

I'm sat here surfing the net beside Lloyd who is working on his RFP....I ahve a nice glass of wine in front of me (almost empty lol) and we have just finished dinner - I made a cottage pie - which is Lloyds favourite thing for me to make.

Most of the children are in bed reading/ sleeping - thanks to their sleepovers and VERY late nights.....which leaves the house very quiet and relaxing very early :) They were all showered and had all made their school lunches before dinner :)

Tomorrow Chris is going on a field trip with the school - they are doing River Watch - which will involve them going out on boats onto the North Saskatchewan River for the day, as well as doing experiments involving the river water....sounds like GREAT fun!!

Tomorrow is also Laurences birthday - he has requested an Ice Cream cake for a birthday cake and Lasagna with salad and garlic bread for his birthday dinner. We will be eating out for the entire week next week so we won't go out for dinner tomorrow night.

I was going to go to the zoo tomorrow with Abigail and Sam, but we think we will probably go to the Greater Vancouver Zoo next week instead so I think we will have a quiet start to tomorrow and then head into town for the ice cream cake and also a skipping rope for Abby.

Tomorrow the new season of Little People Big World starts - thats the only tv show we watch really - apart from Greys, but Greys is on dvd so doesn't really count lol!

It was fun on the quads this afternoon - Sam fell asleep! Lloyd drove with Sam on his lap and me sat on behind him and we rode around Marys land..then he carried Sam in, and Abigail took Sams place and we drove all through the woods like that :) It was so nice!

I can't believe the weather we are having this year! There were so many wasps around today. And the geese are still here - in fact today I saw a huge group of them flying NORTH!!!! Maybe they know something we don't lol! No snow for Halloween would be so great!

This wine is sooooo good!!!

Ok, I have cards to write.....and some gifts to wrap :) as soon as I know Laurie is really asleep I can head out to the car and get them all from their hiding place :)

Abigail in the sun....

It was so gorgeous today....warm and sunny and we sat outside for the afternoon and then went on a quad ride for a while...sat by the fire with Charlie and had a stroll through the woods....I took these pictures of Abby Banana in the wood today.

Balloon makes a run for it!

Sams balloon was tied to his belt while he was oustide, but it must ahve come loose and despite it having a heavy nail attached to the string, it floated away....

It went floating by Chris who was oblivious with his MP3 player distracting him......and then it floated along the trail into the wood and got stuck in a tree by the road....

I was on the phone at the time and my Dad didn't understand what was going on. I was sat by the fire pit and started yelling to Lloyd as it floated by him...then started yelling at Chris as it floated by him.......and then I was kind of shrieking about the fact that the balloon was in the trees lol!

Luckily it got stuck and Lloyd grabbed his saw and took Abigail and Sam into the woods to rescue the balloon.....after I said goodbye to Mom and dad on the phone, I grabbed my camera and followed them into the woods to catch the action! Lloyd cut down the tree and got the balloon back :) My hero :)

....and I'm a blog addict.

I think my Dad needs to get into a 12 step program for blog addicts lol! Today I was speaking to my Mom and my Dad shouts something over the phone about a friends blog - he actually tells me about an important post I had missed and so he knows something abouta friend before I do!

I have visions of my dad reading all the blogs on my blog list each day now lol!

So, you know what I think? I think my Dad should start his own blog! He could post all his daily complaints about Bush and the British Government and road works and the weather and soccer and everything else...he can post my Moms recipes.....he can post pictures and stories about their cat Sammy.....

So Dad, its really easy to do - just go to www.blogger.com and click on 'start a blog' and then it asks you to think up a name for it....and thats it! So so easy to do!

Sunday and the rushing around has STOPPED :)

All the children are home - all are tired and grouchy but they are all here and life can finally slow down :)

Lloyd is about to light a fire for us outside and we will sit by the fire, ride the quads, take a walk and generally potter about and enjoy the 18c temps :) We are having a glorious Fall - a really long glorious Fall with nice weather and the Fall colours still around and NO SNOW :)

Lloyd and I are working on a business proposal in response to a request for tendors for a certain contract.....so I have been going through Lloyds documents and have altered his company profile etc etc ready for the deadline of Friday......it's a really exciting development so please keep your fingers crossed that our proposal is successful. It could mean that Lloyd will be able to be at home a LOT more :)

So apart from that, we have had a lazy day. I sat in bed and watched Bridget Jones Diary...GREAT Sunday morning movie :) Then after breakfast we had to head out and pick Susie up from her sleepover - it was waaaaaaay out in the middle of nowhere!!! The children have a 2 hour bus ride to school each way!

We went into town to try and get Lloyd and Sams hair cut but there were no free appointments, so we ran to Stupidstore to see if they had any black pants for me (they did!!! and they fit length wise woohoo - thats NEVER happens!) and some cupcakes for Laurie to take to school tomorrow for his birthday...and then we came home.....

So now I am going outside to relax by the fire on a gorgeous sunny and warm Fall day :)

So it looks as though Sunday evening will be spent at the 'Casino Royale' event :) Monday evening will be at the Presidents dinner and dance with 'Blues Brothers' entertainment and with the former Premier of British Columbia!!!!

So um...yes, I'm getting excited now that we have more of an idea of whats happening for the first half of our week - and then we go on to Langley for 4 days and apart from a 2 hour training workshop, Lloyd is off for the whole time :)

One more trip...

We just got back from driving Laurie to the movies, and now we can relax for a few hours before picking him up later - and then thats it - until we pick Susie up tomorrow morning....

I only saw Susie for about 5 minutes this morning, between picking her up from her sleepover and us leaving for the mall....so I phoned her from the mall to say hi and to tell her to have fun at her NEXT sleepover! I will be glad when everyone is home tomorrow again and things can slow down again!

We have decided not to go to the Prairie Gardens tomorrow after all - I think we are all looking forward to just relaxing at home instead......I think I'll make pancakes for breakfast and then we will pick Susie up and just mellow out at home!

Oh and I think our chickens are for sale...which is kind of funny really :)

Dad if you read this, no the parcel hasn't arrived but I will call you as soon as it does - we had a holiday last Monday so that may have slowed things down too.

I think I'm going to write to Becky this evening......

Ouch!

Back from WEM and my feet ache sooooo much from walking around...we literally shopped until we dropped - in fact I collapsed on a chair in Sears and just rested while Lloyd looked for dress shoes....I swear I could easily have fallen asleep! And we didn't even get everything we needed - so we will head out again on Tuesday night.

I am so glad to be home!

Off to WEM...

Lloyd just went to pick Susie up from her sleepover and then we are heading off to WEM....we have to pick up Lloyds suit for the trip to Whistler (for the Presidents dinner) and we are going to do a little shopping - child free :) WOOHOO! We have to get a few gifts for a certain someones birthday too :)

Last night we sat and watched Casino Royale and munched pink M&M's :) Chris ended up going to MP with Susie and got back around 11pm....but Laurie watched the movie with us.

Gorgeous weather continues - I am loving this long Fall we are having - please no snow before Halloween would be good.....this week its supposed to be around 18c most days - until mid week at least, so I think a trip to the zoo is in order while the weather is good :) My plans for next week are:

Monday - zoo

Tuesday - swimming + library followed by date night at SEC.

Wednesday - Parent link in the morning to see Samantha, and then in the evening we are going to a parent link family night at North Cooking Lake - with a fire pit, trail walks, chilli supper and various other things going on - for just $5 for a family!

Thursday - A quiet day at home to tidy house/ pack/ do some book work with Abby.

Friday - Lloyd and children are home - have to be at airport at 3pm. Fly to Vancouver WOOHOO!!!!

So thats the plan but as I am learning, plans can change lol!
