Cameron Lake and a hike to Summit Lake

Sunbathing on the dock:

Paddling my toes in the cool mountain water:

Hanging off the deck:

Ice creams with a majestic view:

Having a rest on the four hour hike:

These rocks are everywhere on the trail - the patterns/ ripples on them show that at one time they were in a shallow sea.  This was when much of Alberta was covered in ocean!!  It's so strange to imagine the Rockies not being here and that rock near the top of the mountain was at one time UNDER the sea!!!

Fun with fallen trees, huge roots and magnificent rocks:

Having a drink straight from the waterfall during our hike:

This was the small lake that we hiked up to.  Summit Lake.  No one else was there and it was amazing to sit in the peace and quiet of a lake that few people have been to.  It made Susannah and I want even more to hike to Crypt lake - something amazing about being in places many will never see!!
